Community Assistance Program

‘COMMUNITY ASSIST’ is primarily available, but not limited, to residents living in the Greater Hume Shire Council.

The service is available to those who require support in the form of:

• personal or home items
• groceries
• food or fuel vouchers
• support to access counseling
• connecting with welfare services
• additional support from the Community Assist Volunteer Team.

RCL may also distribute to other funds, or institutions which themselves care for persons requiring community assistance, as deemed appropriate by the Committee.

The Community Assist Program is funded by a Public Fund from the proceeds of the Op Shop and donations, gifts and support from the local and wider community, businesses and government.

People requiring assistance can visit our office in person or contact the Rural Care Link Office on 0475 594 073.

Speak to our Office Administration Assistant or leave a message. The phone recording will include the contact number for the Community Assist Coordinator out of hours.
